Frankfurt
Book Fair concentrates book production in Hall 4.0
When it comes to book production, Hall 4.0 is the
first port of call at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2005.
Alongside distributors, shop fitters and software
suppliers, the Forum Management – Publishing
Solutions and Book Trade Services - will also feature
far more of the services offered by printers, bookbinders
and finishers. With the introduction of book production
as a focal theme, these businesses can benefit from
reduced rates for their stand rental fees. “Grouping
the presentation together makes the offers from service
providers more transparent for our visitors and in
turn, more attractive”, is how project manager
Barbara Stalder explains the concept. In addition,
a lecture forum will be held every day of the Fair
with free specialist talks on the subject of book
production. “Anyone who is involved in production
at a publishing company should plan the time for a
visit to Hall 4.0.”

HMV
bid for Ottakers investigated by OFT
| The
OFT will consider, inter alia, whether the proposed
acquisition by Waterstone's/HMV of Ottakar's will
result in a "substantial lessening of competition",
and whether the competition and rivalry between booksellers
will be weakened to such an extent in the future that
the interests of consumers will be harmed.
